I’m Deb, I live in London and I’m a qualified General English / English for Academic Purposes tutor. I am passionate about teaching and since getting my CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) I have worked for several different schools, teaching a variety of levels and ages. I have recently been awarded a Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults by University College London (UCL) and I am currently doing an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL at King’s College London.
What I like the most about teaching is the feeling of enabling people. Learning English you will be able to communicate with people from different countries around the world and access a wide range of cultural, educational and professional resources in their original language.
I have experience teaching General, Business and Academic English to adults in companies, language schools and universities and have tutored students for the IELTS exam.
I have also worked with toddlers, children and teens. I am familiar with the principles of Jolly Phonics and I have successfully helped kids get ready for their Cambridge Young Learners Examinations.
My other passions
I love cinema, literature, sewing, cycling and hot summer afternoons.
